The “race of creativity” gives community teams 10 hours each to make a short film that screens for the public immediately after. The catch? Each film must include three essential elements announced the morning of the competition — say, “an English teacher,” “a tattoo” and a “lost lover.”
"The idea of getting a group together and making a movie together on the go sounds like a riot,” said Dungjen, who let the idea ferment for several years. “You’ve got to really do some quick thinking.”
Now Dungjen, producer of The Roundup Radio Show, is partnering with The Bay Theatre to bring Cinemasports to northern Michigan. He's seeking filmmaker teams to register for the event, which will take place June 4 at the Suttons Bay theater.
