Step 1: Create Captions on Youtube

Step 2: Download and Submit Captions on Cinemasports.com

This article helps you prepare your movie for international screening by adding subtitles that can be translated easily. If your movie contains spoken dialogue, you may need to submit a subtitle or caption file before the movie can screen in other languages.

To create subtitles, follow these simple steps:

  1. Create subtitles on YouTube.
  2. Download your .srt subtitle file from YouTube.
  3. Submit the .srt file with your movie along with the name of your movie and team on cinemasports.com.

After you have added your subtitles on YouTube, watch your movie with subtitles turned on to confirm that the text is synchronized with the dialogue without errors.

Submit the .srt File
After you have created subtitles on YouTube, you can download an .srt file from YouTube to submit your cinemasports.com. For Cinemasports screenings, try to submit your subtitles in English.

Less Dialog Can Be Easier!
Movies with less dialogue are easier to subtitle and movies without dialogue do not need to be subtitled at all. This can reduce the the amount of stress, particularly if the movie must be subtitled quickly for an international screening.

What if I can't translate to English?
If you cannot translate English language subtitles yourself, send us both the .srt file in your native language.
